Hearts Aware does not verify identity, qualifications, references, or DBS certificates. Profiles are self-declared.
DBS documents on file are NOT verified
Where a helper shows 'DBS document on file', it means a document has been uploaded, not that we have checked or confirmed it. Always ask to see the original DBS certificate yourself before arranging support.
Carry out your own due diligence
Meet in person first, ask for original documents, take up references, and follow safer recruitment guidance. Trust your instincts.
Private arrangements between adults
All arrangements, agreements, contracts and payments are made privately between you and the other party, outside Hearts Aware.
Reporting a profile
Every profile and testimonial includes a "Report" option. Reports go to our moderation inbox. If you have an urgent safeguarding concern, please contact your local authority safeguarding team or the police.
